How a SHANYUAN laminated busbar is made, inspected and documented — from copper sheet to a packed, tested assembly.
Manufacturing Process
Laminated busbar quality is determined long before the first electrical test — it is built into the layup, the lamination window and the terminal welding. Our process chain:
- Material preparation — copper (C11000 standard) or aluminum sheet cut to size and inspected for thickness tolerance.
- Punching and laser cutting — conductor profiles, mounting holes and terminal windows are cut to drawing dimensions.
- Surface finishing — conductors are tin plated for corrosion resistance and reliable solder or weld joints.
- Dielectric layup — PET, Nomex or epoxy-based films are layered between conductors according to the voltage class.
- Lamination — the stack is bonded under controlled heat and pressure; temperature, pressure and time are held to recipe.
- Edge sealing — cut edges are sealed so exposed dielectric layers cannot creep or arc.
- Terminal assembly — threaded studs, blade tabs and fused links are welded in position.
- CNC trimming and inspection — final dimensional verification against the released drawing.
Incoming Materials
- Conductors — C11000 copper as standard; aluminum available on request
- Dielectrics — PET, Nomex and epoxy (DLF) films, selected by voltage class and operating temperature
- Plating — tin finish for corrosion protection and joint solderability
Testing and Inspection
Every production lot is verified before packing. Testing is performed to the specification agreed with the customer at design freeze:
- Dielectric withstand (hipot) testing — per customer specification and applicable standard
- Insulation resistance verification — measured on sampled parts per lot
- Dimensional inspection — terminal positions, hole sizes and overall envelope checked against drawing
- Visual inspection — plating coverage, edge sealing and terminal weld quality
- Continuity check — electrical verification of each conductor path
Documentation
Dimensional and electrical test records are maintained per production lot and can be supplied with your shipment on request. If your quality system requires specific formats, CoCs or PPAP-style documentation, tell us at quotation stage and we will align the paperwork with your requirements.
Design for Manufacturability
Before any tooling is cut, our engineers run a DFM review on your drawing — layer count, current paths, terminal spacing, edge distances and dielectric clearances. Catching a tight edge distance or an under-sized weld zone at this stage is far cheaper than discovering it at first article inspection.
