Key characteristics of this product family.

Copper bar stock is semi-finished rectangular C11000 copper held in 144 in (12 ft) lengths for shops that cut, drill, punch and plate their own busbars. Our stock conductor is Electrolytic Tough Pitch copper - 99.90% Cu with 0.04% oxygen, cold-drawn to the half-hard temper - and it conforms to ASTM B187, B152 and B283-09.
Because the bar is carried in standard 12 ft lengths rather than fabricated, there is no minimum order: a single full-length bar ships for a prototype or a maintenance spares shelf, and production volumes cut from the same stock. Bars can be supplied bare, cut to your exact length with deburred ends, or delivered pre-tin-plated and pre-silver-flashed, with in-house plating (tin, matte tin, silver, nickel, lead) available on custom cuts.
C11000 ETP runs at 100% IACS class, which is why it is the default conductor for distribution and earthing: high electrical and thermal conductivity, and a very low earth-fault resistance that keeps fault currents off equipment frames.
All imperial bars are stocked in 144 in (12 ft) lengths of cold-drawn half-hard C11000 copper. Thickness x width as listed; item codes are SHANYUAN stock references.

Need bent, punched and plated parts rather than raw bar? The same stock feeds our custom copper busbar fabrication line, so one supplier covers both semi-finished and finished needs. For earthing work, browse the grounding busbar kits, and if you are weighing copper against aluminium for a new build, our copper vs aluminium comparison covers conductivity, weight and cost. Request a cut list or a sample bar by contacting the factory.
The C11000 copper busbar bar we hold in stock is one alloy out of a short list, and knowing when to step sideways saves rework. The table compares the grades fabricators usually weigh against our default ASTM B187 copper bar stock.
| Stock Grade | Reference Standard | Typical Conductivity | Form We Supply | Best Use in Your Shop |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| C11000 ETP copper | ASTM B187, plus B152 and B283-09 | 100% IACS class | 144 in bars, half-hard, cut to length | Everyday distribution and earthing bars |
| C10100 OFHC copper | ASTM F68 / B170 | 101% IACS | On request, annealed | Brazed busbars where oxygen-free metal is specified |
| C14500 tellurium copper | ASTM B301 | 90% IACS | On request, free-machining | Heavily drilled and threaded terminals |
| 6101-T6 aluminium | ASTM B317 | 57-61% IACS | Weight-saving extrusions, ask for range | Frames and spans where weight dominates |
ETP copper at 99.90% Cu with a controlled oxygen level is the sweet spot: conductive enough for distribution and fault duty, tough enough to punch and bend without cracking. The values are typical published figures for planning; confirm chemistry against the mill certificate that ships with your order. Fabricators moving between metric imperial copper bar sizes on the same job should note both series cut from the same 144 in parent length. Cold-drawn half-hard stock bends cleanly on shop brakes; if your drawing calls for tight radii, ask for the softer temper supply so cracking stays off the list of reworks. Earthing and fault-duty bars take the same half-hard stock: its low earth-fault resistance is why panel builders keep a shelf of it on site. The background on material choice is in the busbar basics guide.
Stock buyers usually know the current the finished bar must carry, not the section number. The three-step pass below converts a rating into a stocked bar, in either unit system.
| Target Rating | Metric Stock Section | Imperial Stock Section | Typical Shop Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| approx 200 A | 5 x 20 mm | 1 x 1/4 in | Earthing bars and small feeders |
| approx 400 A | 10 x 30 mm | 1.5 x 3/8 in | Panel feeders and retrofit repairs |
| approx 700 A | 10 x 50 mm | 2 x 1/4 in | Machine main connections |
| approx 1,000 A | 10 x 100 mm | 4 x 1/4 in | Switchboard mains and ties |
| approx 1,400 A | 10 x 140 mm | 6 x 1/4 in | Parallel-bar or riser builds |
| approx 1,800 A | 12 x 150 mm | ask factory for widest stock | Heavy tie and riser bars |
Ratings are planning estimates for bars in free air; inside a sealed cabinet derate before cutting. Bars ship bare, pre-tinned or silver-flashed, and identical parent stock also feeds our finished-parts line, so prototype and production cut lists sit on one shelf. Cut bars arrive deburred to length, and prototypes ship from the same shelf as volume orders - no minimum-order penalty on the first run. Full 12 ft bars ship to the maintenance shelf, and cut lengths ship to the assembly line - both from one supplier, so your stock list does not split across vendors. For cut-to-length and plating options read the design guide or ask the factory directly for a sample bar.
