Busbar Quality Documents, Test Reports & CoC

What evidence you receive with a busbar shipment, how test levels are fixed, and what to ask for in advance. Quality documentation is agreed at design freeze, not improvised at shipment.

The default record: per-lot testing

Every production lot gets hipot (dielectric withstand at the agreed voltage), insulation resistance, dimensional and continuity checks, with results filed against the lot number. This is the baseline — it exists for every order, not only when a customer asks. The test levels themselves are fixed at design freeze against the released drawing, so the record answers exactly the specification the order was quoted against.

Certificate of Conformity (CoC)

The CoC confirms the lot conforms to the agreed drawing, specification and test plan, and carries the lot identity and manufacturing date. It is available on request with each shipment. Because per-lot records are the default, the CoC is never a document we have to reconstruct after the fact — it is a summary of records that already exist. Buyers auditing supplier quality files usually ask for CoC plus lot records together, and both ship without extra lead time.

PPAP and programme documentation

For automotive and safety-critical programmes, PPAP-style documentation is scoped in the quotation: control plan, process FMEA inputs, material certificates, capability studies on critical dimensions, and the agreed test plan. The format follows your requirement (AIAG-style or customer template). Because this documentation must exist before production, it is always defined at design freeze — asking for it at shipment means the programme is already behind schedule.

Material certificates

Copper and aluminum conductor mill certificates are available for the material lots used in your order, matching the conductor batch in the lot record. Dielectric film certificates (PET, Nomex, DLF) are available on request. If your application is governed by RoHS or similar substance rules, the declaration is part of the material documentation — state the requirement in the inquiry.

Partial discharge and special tests

Where the voltage class or application requires it, partial discharge testing per IEC 60270 with a 10 pC acceptance level is performed and reported per lot or per sample plan. Thermal cycling, salt-spray and other environmental tests are available as agreed scope. The partial discharge resource explains why the 10 pC level matters and how it is measured.

What to request at quotation stage

The documentation you want must be in the inquiry, not the shipment: CoC (always available), PPAP scope and template, material certs, PD testing, and any customer-specific inspection forms. Add them to the quote request and they are priced and scheduled up front. The quality & testing page describes our process controls; the lot records are the output of those controls.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a CoC and when do I get one?
A Certificate of Conformity states that the delivered lot conforms to the agreed drawing, specification and test plan. It ships with the order when requested, and is available for every lot because per-lot records exist by default.
Can you provide PPAP documents?
Yes, on a scoped basis for automotive programmes: control plan, process FMEA inputs, capability studies on critical dimensions and material certs. Scope and format are defined in the quotation so the documents are ready at shipment, not after.
What test data can you share per lot?
Hipot voltage and leakage result, insulation resistance, dimensional results on critical features and continuity per lot. Partial discharge reports are available where the application requires PD testing.
