What Is a Laminated Busbar?

A laminated busbar is a multilayer construction of conductors — copper or aluminum separated by thin dielectric films, laminated into one structure. Electrically it is a multilayer circuit that distributes current from capacitors and power modules to their loads through defined, low-inductance paths.

  • Low stray inductance
  • High current & voltage capability
  • Compact & flexible layouts
  • Fully customized to your drawing
  • Controlled partial discharge
  • Component integration possible

Layer Structure

One laminated part, 1–6+ conductor layers

Conductors, dielectrics and terminals are bonded under heat and pressure into a single insulated assembly. Stack-up follows your drawing.

What the stack gives you

  • Low inductance — face-to-face conductors cancel loop area.
  • High current & voltage capability — multi-layer paths in one part.
  • Compact & flexible layouts — thin assemblies fit tight enclosures.
  • Fully customized — layer count, terminals, mounting per drawing.
  • Controlled partial discharge — dielectric class by voltage.
  • Component integration — sense taps, fuses and brackets in one laminate.

Why SHANYUAN

Four reasons buyers specify SHANYUAN busbars

A focused manufacturer, not a trading company — you deal with the engineers who build the part.

01

Direct engineering access

Your drawings are reviewed by the engineers who build the busbar — not forwarded through a trading desk.

02

DFM feedback before tooling

Edge distances, weld zones and dielectric clearances are flagged early, when changes are cheap.

03

Documented quality

Every batch is tested and recorded — dimensional and electrical test records per lot, on request.

04

One supplier, end to end

From first drawing to delivered, tooled production parts — one accountable partner.

Markets

Six markets, one core technology

Wherever switching speed, power density and assembly reliability decide the design, a laminated busbar earns its place.

Engineering, tooling and production in one facility

Since 2012 we have run a controlled process chain — material prep, punching and laser cutting, plating, dielectric layup, lamination, edge sealing, terminal assembly and final inspection — in our own plant in Shandong, China.

  • Copper (C11000) and aluminum
  • PET, Nomex and epoxy (DLF) dielectrics
  • Tin plating for corrosion resistance
  • Full edge sealing on every part
  • Hipot, insulation and continuity testing
  • Batch records with every shipment

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers from the engineering team.

What information do you need to quote a laminated busbar?
A drawing (PDF or DXF) or a photo of an existing sample, the required current rating and voltage class, number of conductor layers, terminal types, estimated annual quantity, and the application. With a complete specification, our engineering team typically responds within one business day.
What are the standard conductor and dielectric options?
Conductors are C11000 copper as standard, with aluminum available on request, tin plated. Dielectrics include PET, Nomex and epoxy (DLF) films, selected according to your voltage class and operating temperature.
How many conductor layers can you build?
We build custom stack-ups from 1 to 6+ layers. Layer count, terminal layout and mounting configuration are all defined by your drawing and reviewed at DFM before tooling.
Do you support low-volume prototypes before production?
Yes. Custom projects typically run: spec review, DFM, quotation, sample build for fit and electrical verification, then tooled production with documented QC per lot.
What testing is performed on production lots?
Testing follows the specification agreed at design freeze: dielectric withstand (hipot), insulation resistance, dimensional inspection, visual inspection of plating and edge sealing, and continuity checks per conductor path.
Can you provide documentation for our quality system?
Dimensional and electrical test records are maintained per lot. If your quality system requires CoCs, specific formats or PPAP-style documentation, tell us at quotation stage and we align the paperwork with your requirements.
What current ratings can SHANYUAN busbars handle?
Rating is designed per application up to roughly 1000 A, sized against continuous and peak current with thermal margin — see our ampacity chart for the starting reference points.
Where are your products made?
All busbars are engineered, tooled and produced in our own facility in Shandong Province, China — a focused manufacturer, not a trading company.
What is your typical lead time for production orders?
Sample builds ship within 5–7 working days. Tooled production runs are typically 2–3 weeks after sample approval, depending on quantity and stack complexity. We confirm a firm date with every quotation.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
There is no MOQ for samples and pre-production prototypes. For tooled production we work with your demand — from low-volume pilot runs to series orders — so quantity is agreed per project rather than forced by a fixed minimum.
